Your Digital PTO Website’s Privacy Settings
Digital PTO Websites are built to ensure that your website is as public or as private as your group would prefer. During our beta testing, we have found that parent groups that keep their settings public tend to have higher traffic to their website and thus better responses and business involvement. That being said though, if your group requires security and privacy, Digital PTO can accomodate you as well with the click of a button.
Step 1: Click the PRIVACY link in the Settings Menu
Step 2: Select Your Privacy Level and Save
Select the Privacy Setting’s option you would like for your website and then click SAVE CHANGES.
Step 3: An Explanation of the Privacy Settings Options
Digital PTO Offers five different levels of privacy settings.
I would like my site to be visible to everyone, including search engines (like Google, Bing, Technorati) and archivers: Suggested Setting
This setting will make your website function like a regular website. Search engines will find it and put it in their results, people will be able to access the site just like they would any other site. We suggest using this setting unless you have a reason to select something else.
I would like to block search engines, but allow normal visitors
This setting will allow anyone to visit your site, but will prevent all of the search engines from indexing your website. In other words, your PTA website will not be listed in the search engines.
I would like only logged in users to see my blog.
This setting will require users to register an account before they can access the site. Registration is open to the public.
I would like only logged in users who are registered subscribers to see my blog.
This setting will also require users to register before they can access your site, but it takes it a step further and requires the administrator to grant the registered user access to the site by changing their status to subscriber. (not suggested)
I would like only administrators of this blog, and network to see my blog.
This setting will make only the top level users able to see your blog. Works best as a planning tool this way but not as a public blog. (not suggested at all)
