If you are a PTA or PTO that already has email addresses and/or hosting set up with another host (godaddy.com for example) it is possible to assign your Digital PTO website to your domain and still continue to use your email services through another provider. This applies only to groups that want to continue to use their custom domain email with a third party, if you are not using custom email addresses, this tutorial does not apply to you and you can use our standard Domain Mapping Tutorial found here.
If you wish to move only your website hosting (and keep your email service) to your Digital PTO website, you will need to do the following.
- Contact your Registrar (the folks that provide your domain name and possibly current hosting)
- Tell them you need to add DNS “A” Records to your domain pointing to this IP address: 72.34.52.130
- Your registrar should be able to either complete this for you, OR will instruct you how to modify your domain name via your control panel. Please note that there may be an additional very small charge from your registrar to do this if you are not currently paying for hosting with them.
- Once you have completed the request, please enter your new domain name in the DOMAIN MAPPING settings on your Digital PTO admin website
- Finally, complete the Domain Mapping Request form located here and you will be all set!
